Guest Post - Arcadian Home Decor

Hi all!

I’m Jennifer and I write for Arcadian Home Decor, a site that chronicles home decor trends around the world. I've been writing about home decor since graduating university and have loved it ever since. I'm addicted to patterned fabrics, Jonathan Adler, chaise lounges, old doors, milk glass jars, antiques, and chandeliers.

I also love baking, gardening and photography, so you can imagine my delight when I discovered Gemma's blog Musings of a Gem a while back - we share all of the same interests! Her posts are always light-hearted and fun, and I'm excited to share a guest blog on fab fashionista bedrooms.

Most home decor trends are inspired by fashions strutted down the catwalk - the colours, patterns and styles seen on the runways can be reinterpreted in the home. However sometimes actual fashion, like mannequins and clothing wall art, can be used to add instant fashion satisfaction to a space too, like a bedroom. Here are eight stylish examples.

Like the bold colours of this season's most luxurious sweaters and knit dresses, a bedroom in similar rich shades is just as comfortably trendy.

A vintage green dress is a piece of artwork when showcased as a wall decor - it's especially striking propped against this soft ocean-inspired bedroom.

For the fashionista wannabe

Tweens with a keen sense of style would love this pink bedroom, with fun framed fashion wall art and table decorations.

The red-lipped wall hanging is definitely sexy for a bedroom; and it's obvious that this fashion-lover is a fan of exotic colours. The light-up makeup vanity offers a touch of old Hollywood glam.

A flashy poster along with a framed portrait of a model, as well as the blue and white colour palette, give this space a laid-back South Beach model-esque feel.

Old-world elegance

Various elements come together in this elegant bedroom, from the vintage-shaped headboard to the sumptuous patterns and fabrics, not to mention the touch of fashion -- the beautiful books at the foot of the bed.

This shabby chic space is for fashionable little ladies only - the open armoire showcases clothing like works of art while the rich pink and white colours are a contemporary twist on the traditional.

This cozy guest room vignette, outfitted with an antique seamstress mannequin, aged louver doors and vintage fashion wall art, has loads of character.
