The fair was being held in a hall in the village I have fallen in love with (back in may). I think setting up, settling down and getting used to people looking at your stuff..and in fact some ignoring your creations was the hardest bit. I wasn't really sure what to say or do with myself, so Ian (who came along and helped me so much!) told me to have a wonder around and have a chat with other sellers.
An hour had nearly passed by when I had my first sale. A few more sales followed within the next hour and I then began to really enjoy myself.
The hall had lots of Christmas trees dotted about. There was a Santa's Grotto, A Tea room, Mulled Wine and lots of festive music. Everyone knew one another and everyone was having fun. Money raised is to be donated to a local hospital baby unit, which for me is the icing on the cake.
I am really glad I ended up selling there.
I sold a fair amount for my first ever fair.
I got to see what 'type' of people were interested and those who weren't.
I learnt that children REALLY distract there parents from looking.
I learnt not to be offended if someone doesn't like my creations.
I resisted buying lots of other beautiful bits.
Off home we went and I have to say I slept very well that night!
I hope to sell there again next year.
